Charlene Quint serves as the co-chair of the Partnership for a Safer Lake County. Prior to starting her own law firm addressing domestic abuse, Ms. Quint served for 15 years as a corporate attorney at the large Chicago law firm of SchiffHardin LLP, and served as law clerk to the Honorable Morton Denlow in federal court. Prior to her legal career, Ms. Quint served as Chief Financial Officer of Probus Publishing Company and started her financial career as a CPA at Arthur Andersen & Co. in Chicago.
Ms. Quint served for ten years on the Board of Regents at Trinity International University, where she also taught Business Law and founded Lessons in Leadership, a university-wide initiative to train young leaders. She also served for six years on the Board of Directors of the Au Sable Institute of Environmental Studies. She has served on the Board of Deacons and in various ministries at her local church, and has served as pro bono attorney for numerous faith-based organizations.
Ms. Quint is a 1985 graduate of Augustana College, graduating summa cum laude with majors in Accounting and Business Administration. She is a 1999 graduate of Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, graduating magna cum laude with a doctorate in jurisprudence.
As a survivor of domestic abuse, she is grateful to have made the journey from victim to victor, and feels privileged to walk alongside and help other women on their own journeys from victim to victorious.

How the Church Can Change the Culture of Domestic Abuse
This discussion is designed to educate and equip church leaders with information about abuse that hides in nearly every church. Thirty five percent of women, including church-going women, will be affected by abuse in her lifetime, and women of faith stay in abusive marriages far longer than women who do not identify with any faith. From a Biblical perspective, this presentation discusses the tactics abusers use, the prevalence of abuse in the faith community, the effects on women, children and the congregation of abuse, offers specific Biblical guidelines for clergy on how to support the victim, and points out the top ten mistakes that church leaders make in addressing abuse. This presentation is offered either as a presentation or a workshop format for clergy and church leaders.
